  My girlfriend and brother go here... as well as my mother... and all three of them have had sub par experiences. Dr. Hirata, while being a nice guy, is not the doctor I would choose personally. My girlfriend had an IUD put in from Dr. Hirata, and having had an IUD put in before she said the pain was 'tolerable... but still hurts'... with Hirata... it was EXCRUCIATING. Not to mention the fact that when he came into the room to do the procedure his fly was unzipped... NOT KIDDING. My younger brother went to him for a basic checkup and was told a bunch of gibberish about how wheat is necessary for you and Hirata played nutritionist even though his belief in the standard american food pyramid is highly flawed (this coming from the perspective of a biochemist...). Instead of listening to my brother explain how a higher protein, lower carb diet has helped his adhd, Hirata decided to both encourage him to stop doing something that was working (a lower carb higher protein diet) and helping his blood panels, eat more wheat, and then CUT his adhd prescription... so basically his medical advice was 'stop doing whats working naturally, and at the same time my advice is making your condition worse... I also think I should stop prescribing you pharmas that are helping as well.' My only advice is having known three people close to me who have been patients here, I wouldn't go personally... but don't take my word for it... give him a try and see if it works out.
